The ups and downs of travel
Sunday night in Rome, 6/8/23
We have finally arrived in Rome. What a trip! (you will laugh later)
Our business class section was full of female soccer players, many of whom were injured, like me, In fact, there i was, ex-soccer player and injured. i felt for them.
In case you have not heard, i had a fall even before getting to sydney airport. We spent a lovely morning on saturday watching beau and Bonnie play soccer and netball respectively. Beau even scored his first goal. So happy.
After lunch i had a big fall/trip into a table and chairs, one of my more spectacular falls. I am sure it had nothing to do with the celebratory glass of wine i had at lunch.
MS is obviously not enough of a disability/liability on this trip. So i had to make it worse by adding bruised ribs and scapular.( Self diagnosed.) Hopefully not broken but more disability and other bruises everywhere.
Walking short distances is still ok but getting up and down chairs and amenities is painful.
Thank goodness we have our supply of drugs, I have used more in the last 24 hours than i have in the last 6 months. And thank goodness we were in business class as it made getting on and off a lot easier and so much more comfortable, photos tomorrow.
And then of course the plane was delayed because it was sick. Soccer players, including me and now the engine. It wouldn't turn on which is probably a problem and why it tool 1.5 hours of us sitting in the plane while they found an engineer who could fix it. Fingers crossed.
It really made me think about what could happen, especially when the plane rattles and shakes a bit.
I have decided that if we go down, that
will be the end but if we somehow survive the crash and end up on some
mountain, (It's been done, even a movie)
I will not eat my fellow passengers.
That's where I draw the line. Refuse to feast on Freddie or gobble Gerta. Just
for example
Sorry this has got very dark. Pain and drugs and a horrible hotel that i booked in Rome will do that to you. More on that tomorrow, if we/I survive.
